YOUR LOCAL MAKERSPACE

WHO WE ARE

What is a makerspace? A makerspace is a business that functions like a gym, charging monthly subscriptions in exchange for using its tools, primarily focusing on tools such as woodworking, welding, machining, 3d printing and electronics equipment. We provide complete technical support, training and some material supplies.

STARFORGE is the makerspace in Bryan/College Station, gathering hardware builders and hands-on learners all in one place and giving them all the classes and resources they need, including tools, space, money, support, and a community of builders and innovators. Our goal is for students (and general members of the public) to build cool projects and expand their skills.

S P A C E

Located across the street from Zachry, next door to Harry's, we have a 2,000 sq. ft. shop with welding, machining, woodworking, electronics, 3d printing tools accessible to all members. Featuring everything a maker could want, STARFORGE is purpose-built to be the ultimate mad scientist workshop where nothing is impossible. Now the tools are no longer the limiting factor to what you can build.

Tired of communities of 'builders' who do nothing but talk? Us too.  We set out on a journey to fundamentally change how things are built at Texas A&M. So we built a makerspace because it was necessary. Now we're busy building the community around it. We are the destination for the most talented and ambitious innovators and builders in town. Mark my word, you will not find a higher concentration of engineering talent anywhere else in this city.

WE LIKE TO BUILD. We're very fond of it. No really, it's great! It's pervasive. Our job here is not to restrict or tell you what to build, but it is to help you build whatever it is you are working on. We have everything from mars rovers, mall-style trains, go karts down to wooden coasters. If I were to describe the culture in one phrase it would be 'let em cook'. Our two favorite things to do together are build and hang out. It's what most people envision as engineering school, not doing homework.

Honestly, just walk in sometime. It's a cool place and we'll give you a tour for free anytime. You'll get to see all the goodies we're working on as well!
